Hello! My name is Madison Telles and I’m the Peer Leader Coordinator this year! I am a senior Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Pre-Law Public Policy here at Stevens, originally from Roseville, CA, and this is my third year being involved in Orientation. I’ve been working with many people in the Office of Undergraduate Student Life (including our amazing intern, Olivia) to make sure that Orientation is one of the most engaging and educational weeks of your new life at Stevens! Outside of being involved in Orientation, I am heavily involved in Greek Life on campus as a sister in one of our social Greek sororities and I previously did research through our College of Arts and Letters.
Hey there! My name is Olivia Ballhagen and I am new to Stevens, just like you! Currently I am a graduate student from Iowa, studying Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs. This summer I am interning with the Stevens Orientation Team, and am one of the faces behind the screen of Stevens Students posts on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, and publishing the blogs of Peer Leaders.
Here are some tips to make the most out of your summer to help with your transition to Stevens this Fall:
This blog is designed for you to gain insight from current students to help prepare you for your upcoming fall at Stevens. Stay tuned each week for a new topic being covered by our Peer Leaders. Our Peer Leaders are Stevens students who are passionate about creating a great transition to the Stevens community.
Stay engaged this summer by taking time to read blogs to help with your life changing transition at the end of the summer. You can also prepare by participating in our webinar series and by following us on social media. We want to make this transition as smooth as possible, so engaging early can help! There is a Stevens Class of 2022 Facebook page that you can join if you would like to socialize with others in the incoming class!
3. Ask for Help
Whether it is during your preparation, or once you are a year in at Stevens, do not be afraid to seek help. Remember that others are in the same boat as you figuring out a new school, town, and faces. We hope that this blog can help put you at ease by getting you to think about your upcoming fall at Stevens, but please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have further questions!
We hope you enjoy the content to help with your preparations in joining the Duck family. Welcome to the flock!
